In the past at ETSU, faculty applications for tenure and/or promotion required a great deal of paperwork and there was a bottleneck when it came for committees, chairs, and deans to review the application materials. After extensive interviews with deans, chairs, and executive aides to accurately determine current workflows and future needs, the ETC launched a beta version in Fall 2009. The colleges of Business and Technology and Clinical and Rehabilitative Health Sciences participated in a two-year beta test, and online tenure and promotion became available to all of ETSU in Fall 2011.
"Carolyn Novak and her team were innovative, professional and entrepreneurial in developing and deploying the paperless ETSU Tenure and Promotion (T & P) Document Management System and are commended for their accomplishments."
Dr. Andy Czuchry, College Committee Chair for T & P
"Overall I really liked the system. Having all documents in one place that were submitted by myself and other persons along this process is a very nice feature. Also I got the information the day after the deadline which is very convenient."
Dr. Chris Wallace, T & P Candidate
